What are alternatives to the Adobe and Affinity graphics suites?

I use Affinity Photo / Designer / Publisher, but now after Canva's acquisition of Affinity I expect they switch the pricing model to a subscription. So I'm looking for a cheap or free alternative to Affinity products.
