Windows Vista Update error code 800F020B - how to solve?

When I connected my Windows Mobile Smartphone and tried to install >>Microsoft Corporation - Networking Windows Mobile based device<< update, mentioned error occured.

try to attach the device before the installation and leave it attached during installation

but how do i restart the update again? when i try checking for new windows updates it reports there to be none. my smartphone is no longer detected by mobile device center...

I do not know the solution, but you can try to uninstall Windows Mobile Device Center (Start > Control Panel > Uninstall a Program) and install it again. Download is here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter.mspx

There is a new version 6.1 on the mentioned Microsoft page (I am running v. 6.0), maybe it helps.

I had this error message and what resolved this was to leave device plugged in as you installed updates.

Thanks for the tip that BB needs to be connected. I happily solved the problem of not being able to run the update since it has disappeared. I connected the BB and ran the BB desktop manager, and then ran windows update, and the update re-appeared.

Yeah plugging in the device and retrying the download works. Here are the details on my issue.

im having this error problem. problem is ive lost windows
updater completly/ not on my computer. tried to do a reinstall
but my disks are bad. the only solution is to upgrade to
windows 7 im told by the tecs at frys electronics. bummer.
