What Is Pharmacokinetics

Definition of Pharmacokinetics is "The study of the bodily absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion of drugs". In other words, pharmacokinetics describes what happens to a drug when given to a patient.

Basic Pharmacokinetics Questions

  • How do I give a drug?
  • Is it absorbed?
  • How much is absorbed
  • Where does it go?
  • How long does it stay there?
  • How often do I have to give it?
  • How does it leave the body?

What pharmacokinetics studies: administration, absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion.
